Pediatrician is responsible for providing medical services to Health Center patients in the field of pediatric specialization in which the physician completed training. Pediatricians must also provide on-call coverage as scheduled.
Essential Duties:
- The physician is responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and adolescent patients
- Treatment includes the ordering and following up of lab and other diagnostic tests
- When appropriate, the physician will coordinate care with other members of the health care team and refer patients when necessary for further diagnostic work-ups or treatment
- Care includes hospital admission when warranted as well as coordinating inpatient care
- Reports to the Chief of the Service (i.e. Medicine, Pediatrics, etc) as well as the Chief Medical Officer
Qualifications:
- 1- to 2 years experience in the field
- Board Certification or Board eligibility
- Graduate of an approved medical school
- Graduate of an approved residency program
- Able to communicate effectively with staff and patients
- Basic computer skills required
- Must be able to work with a culturally diverse population
- Must be able to collaborate with other medical staff in a cordial, professional relationship
- Must be able to work with patients and show respect, privacy, and professionalism
