Performs accounting functions and performs related work as required. Under the supervision of the Controller, the senior accountant is responsible but not limited to, general ledger accountability, financial reporting, and various aspects of financial record keeping, which involves the responsibility of reviewing Accounts Payable vouchers, including A/P coding and account analyses.
Essential Duties
- Analyze General Ledger Accounts
- Prepares Monthly Public Goods Pools Reports
- Prepares Monthly Cash Receipts Schedule and Depreciation Schedule
- Prepares Monthly Financial Statements
- Prepares Monthly Journal Entries
- Prepares Bank Reconciliation
- Assists with preparing UDS Report
- Assists with preparing Medicaid Cost Report
- Assists with preparing 990 Tax Returns
- Reviews Accounts Payable Vouchers and assists with special projects as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of three years of work experience in the financial field. Financial Reporting, Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Payable.
- Thorough knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Ability to interact well with others, accuracy, neatness.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Accounting Systems
- Organizational, verbal and communication skills a must. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task is an asset. Strong analytical and accounting skills, ability to meet assigned tasks within established deadlines
